In a time when “afrobeats was starting to sound similar to one another” was a common comment, First Kaz stood out through is collaborations & fusion with traditional sounds from Nigeria.First Klaz began making traditional music like Fuji, Faaji and Arewa from a contemporary perspective in 2024. Gen-Z Arewa was the first song, with Iliya Entertainment music, a Hausa speaking band from North Nigeria. They went on to create “Alhaji” - an instant hit with wild visuals and an infectious energy.
First Klaz released his EP “Dejavu” in 2025, a really excellent project, our favourite track being Soyaiya, a nod to afrobeats, traditional percussion and soaring vocals.
